buying used parts for vehicles

When buying used parts for atvs or anything. If the ad says ( Might fit this model check with dealer.) chances are it probaly won't. For example Lt250r wheel hubs 85-86 will have a bolt pattern of 4x130 and axle spines of 24 88-92 have 5X130 and axle spines of 26.1987 lt250r has a axle spine of 24 and hub 5x130.The axle will work in all lt250r. I had a guy tell me he had 8 lt250r ,so he knows all. I told him to look up parts durablue aftermarket. Well he never wrote back because he was wrong. I have a 1988 lt250r with a 85-86 axle. I bought it that way. So if i was to part it out i would sell a 88 axle not knowing it was a 85-86 axle. Well I just pissed someone off because there hubs don't fit. There is a guy selling plastic on e-bay for a 230 quadsport it came of his lt250r because he or someone else put them on it. He even says might fit quadzilla(check with dealer) evenwhen the lt500r is twice the size. I pointed it out, he refused to agree that they were not lt250r plastic. Both these sellers had positive feedback. They want to make a sale So due your reserch when buying parts. Because if you do ask your dealer they might have good advise and might not. Hope this helps
