Hewlett Packard 110 print cartridges can hold a good deal more ink then was originally in the cartridge when purchased new. This refill has you injecting more ink then was originally in the ink jet cartridge. For this reason you should expect more prints before running out of ink.
The Hewlett Packard 110 ink jet print cartridge utilizes a thermal process to dispense ink from 600 nozzles. It is not an air tight ink cartridge. For this cartridge to function properly air must be allowed to get into the cartridge for ink to get out.
IMPORTANT: Never touch the print head or contact points of the cartridge as this may damage the cartridge. Do not allow cartridge to run our of ink as it may damage the print head of the cartridge.
For refill any inkjet cartridge it is regemended that you lay down an adequate amount of newspaper. Do this before opening any ink bottle or removing cartridge from printer.
1. Remove cartridge from printer and set down on a secure surface. 2. Insert cartridge into cartridge clip. Insert bottom of cartridge into print head first and then slide top of cartridge into place.3. Using a blunt knife, box cutter or similar item raise a corner of the cartridge top label. This will expose the original fill holes of the cartridge. With label partially raised peel back the remaining portion of the label.4. With the label removed it is easy to see the fill holes originally used by HP.With the print head at top of the image; The top center fill hole is the Yellow fill hole. The left lower hole is the Magenta fill hole. The lower right hole is the Cyan fill hole.5. Attach bluntinjector tipto injector and fill injector to 3cc with desired color ink. 6. Insert bluntinjector into correct cartridge fill hole and slowly begin to inject ink. These cartridges contain a sponge material to retain ink. You will meet resistance from this sponge material at first. Once bluntinjector tiphas been inserted slowly inject ink into cartridge. GO SLOW.If ink gees to the top of the cartridge fill hole immediately stop injecting ink. Wait several seconds and then slowly remove bluntfrom cartridge. Injecting 3cc into the cartridge is more then was originally in the cartridge. A geplete 3cc refill may not take. Do not be concerned if your refill is much less then 3cc. 7. Repeat refill with remaining two colors.8. After filling all three colors clean injectors and blunts. Allow cartridge to sit in clip until you are done.9. Put original label back onto cartridge while it is in the clip. Make sure you do not press hard on label. Pressing too hard can block the air path of the cartridge.
10. Remove cartridge from cartridge clip and blot on paper towel for 2 seconds.NOTE the important of the word BLOTTED. It is important to blot and NOT scrape the cartridge on a paper towel. scraping can damage the cartridge.
The image below just shows the correct blotting of a cartridge. The two sets of color in the right display what a good blotting looks like. The color set on the far right shows a cartridges that has been blotted too long.11. Cartridge should now be reinserted into printer and a print head cleaning should be performed. Following the cleaning a print test page is normally printed as part of the cleaning routine. Check to make sure test looks good. If test is missing lines allow printer to site for 5 minutes then repeat head cleaning.
